‘The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ Cast Receives Permission to Promote Movie Amid SAG-AFTRA Strike | hunger games, Movies, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, The Hunger Games

Rachel Zegler and the rest of the cast of the Hunger Games prequel movie The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes can officially return to the promo circuit amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike!

If you were unaware, most movies and TV shows coming out lately have been doing so without star-studded premieres and interviews from the cast. Actors haven’t even been able to post about their releases on social media, and there were rules in place for what they could wear for Halloween.

Thankfully, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be able to ramp up promo again before the movie’s release next month!

Variety noted that the movie’s studio Lionsgate was able to secure an interim agreement from the actors union. This means that the cast will be able to attend premieres and talk about the movie while the strike is still ongoing.

The agreement was only possible because Lionsgate is not part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. They likely had to agree to a variety of rules imposed by the actors union, too.

Priscilla, starring Jacob Elordi, secured a similar agreement.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will premiere in theaters on November 17! Hunger Games fans will need to keep an eye peeled for a specific callback to Jennifer Lawrence‘s character Katniss Everdeen when they watch it.
