Tesco recalls festive party food and warns ‘don’t eat it’ after labelling error

Supermarket giant Tesco has warned customers “don’t eat it” after recalling a batch of its festive party food.

Tesco is recalling a specific date code of Tesco 8 Chicken Tsukune Skewers, 280g.

This is due to an incorrect Use by Date code of December 23, 2024, printed on the packs instead of December 10, 2024.

The extension of the Use by Date code could pose a health risk, if the product is kept past the correct shelf life of the product.

Customers are being urged not to eat the skewers, if they have purchased them.

Product recall:

Tesco 8 Chicken Tsukune Skewers

Size: 280g

Date Code: December 23, 2024

Batch Code: 241025

Teso said: “If you’ve bought an affected product with batch code 241025, please don’t eat it.

“Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given.

“No receipt is required…For any further enquiries, please contact Tesco Customer Service Team on 0900 505 555.”

In other food recall news, Morrisons recently issued a recall on its crushed garlic.

The supermarket said an ingredient was omitted from the product which prevents microbiological growth, and therefore presents a potential risk to consumers.

Product recall:

Morrisons said: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, no other products or date codes are known to be affected by this issue.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
