Tesco issues urgent warning to shoppers as foods pulled from shelves

Multiple food products sold in Tesco, Londis, One Stop, Budgens and Booker Premier stores have been deemed a risk to customers.

Shoppers have been warned not to eat items, which include sandwich pickles and chocolate cereal over health fears.

Alerts for affected batches of the products have been issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), while retailers have issued a point-of-sale notice to customers.

Anyone who has purchased chocolate flavour Kellogg’s Corn Flakes from Tesco, One Stop, Londis, Budgens, Booker Premier stores and Booker Cash & Carry outlets could be at risk.

According to a recall issued by the FSA, this is due to the potential presence of hard lumps of food within the product, rendering it “unsafe to eat”.

Kellogg’s fans who have recently purchased the cereal have been advised to check the best-before dates on the packaging.

According to the FSA, the product should be disposed of if the best-before dates range from December 6 2024 to 28 April 2025.

Its statement read: “Please note that Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Original is not affected, nor is any other Kellogg’s product. Please do not consume this product and instead dispose of it and contact us for a refund.”

Tesco also apologised to shoppers for issues with its own-brand jars of sandwich pickle spread. The supermarket issued a warning for the products after it was discovered that the product may contain glass, which poses an obvious safety risk to consumers.
