Andhadhun is one of the best crime thriller movies made in Bollywood. Released in 2018, it was directed by Sriram Raghavan and stars Tabu and Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead roles. Actress Radhika Apte also plays a pivotal role in it. Over the years, the fan following and appreciation for the movie have only grown more. The open ending has left a number of possibilities for a sequel.
Today, the movie completes 6 years of its release. Directed Sriram Raghavan was asked if he plans to make a sequel for the film starring Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Radhika Apte. The director told Times Now that he knows the audience loves the movie and is attached to it. But everyone who has worked on the movie has moved on. The movie’s co-writer, Hemanth Rao, is making his own movies. Raghavan was impressed by Rao’s work in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello.
Further about the Andhadhun sequel, Sriram Raghavan said that he is not ruling out the possibility of making a Part 1. “Today, when it completes six years, would have been the right time for a reunion of the Andhadhun team. If we find the right story for the sequel, why not? However, we can’t just do a sequel for the doing’s sake. If we do that, the fans who are now demanding a sequel would be at our throats for letting them down. Andhadhun is a cult film now. We have to respect its status and not rush into something like Andhadhun Ka Baap, or whatever,” reveals the director.

Sriram Raghavan was also asked his thoughts on Andhadhun becoming his signature movie. The director said that he’s happy to know it but is also proud of his 2024 release Merry Christmas, which stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. He hopes his next release, Ikkis, receives the same love. The film stars The Archies star Agastya Nanda.
