Symone Sanders-Townsend is blasting Biden administration officials who cannot “verify” Israel’s actions in Gaza, calling it “absurd.”
“The statements from some administration officials about not being able to verify what’s happening in Gaza are absurd. We can all see the pictures. It’s horrific,” Sanders-Townsend, a former advisor to President Joe Biden, wrote on X.

Israel is currently facing backlash over a strike on a Rafah site where displaced Palestinians were being housed. Dozens of civilians were killed in the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “tragic incident” and said it will be investigated. Two Hamas militants were killed in the strike, but civilian casualties were not expected.
The losses are the latest civilian deaths that have led to calls for a ceasefire. Israel has said there will be an end to their strikes until Hamas is eliminated. The terror group attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killed more than 1,000, and kidnapped hundreds.
Sanders previously compared protests surrounding the Israel-Hamas war to Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
“I know for a fact that least a couple months ago and weeks ago, people were telling Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America, that this ceasefire thing was going to blow over once you get the hostages back and won’t be an issue for the general election,” she told The Root in March. “I think that was wrong and bad advice to give.”
