‘Suspects involved in motivating youth into committing terror attacks’: NIA raids 19 locations across 5 states | India News

NEW DELHI: The NIA executed searches at 19 locations spanning five states, investigating radicalisation activities connected to the Pakistan based banned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. Early morning operations targeted suspect hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
The searches were initiated based on information obtained from interrogating the arrested suspect and analysing evidence against individuals whose premises were investigated in October.

Previously, the NIA indicated that the suspects were involved in radicalising JeM associates and distributing terrorist propaganda whilst recruiting youth into the Jamaat organisation influenced by JeM. “These suspects were involved in motivating youth into committing violent terror attacks across India,” the NIA said.
This action follows previous operations conducted two months ago across five states, resulting in the arrest of Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, also known as Ayubi.
The arrest had occurred after searches at 26 locations across Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. The earlier operation led to multiple suspects being detained for interrogation. The searches yielded important evidence, including documents, electronic equipment, pamphlets and magazines.
