‘Super easy’ cheesy and creamy mashed potato recipe

A chef from TikTok’s @TastyUK says she has discovered a new mashed potato recipe that she is “convinced” will be “your new favourite mashed potato recipe. Though the recipe promises rich, cheesy, garlic-infused mash, the good news is that it can be completed in six straightforward steps.

Sharing the recipe on TikTok, the cook said: “I am convinced that this will be your new favourite mashed potato recipe. It’s cheesy, creamy, garlic and also super easy to make.”

In a video posted for the @TastyUK TikTok page, the cook began by chopping white potatoes and boiling them in a pan of water until fork tender.

A good indicator of when the potato is done boiling is if you can pierce it with a fork. The ideal consistency is one where the fork easily slides right through to the centre. If you notice any resistance keep boiling for a few more minutes.

“Whilst boiling, wrap up a whole bulb of garlic in some foil and bake until soft,” explained the cook.

Once the potatoes are ready, mash them together before adding butter and single cream.

Then, mash add the softened garlic cloves and mash one more time.

“Top with plenty of parmesan cheese, fresh chives and bake until golden,” added the cook.

The recipe has been applauded by viewers, with one commenter writing: “Oh my gosh that looks amazing”.
