In the season 2 premiere, Sunil, in his comedic character Dafli, posed as Ranbir’s ‘ex,’ much to Alia Bhatt’s amusement. Kapil Sharma set the scene by teasing Alia, saying, “There was a girl in Ranbir’s life,” which led to Sunil’s dramatic entrance. Dressed as Dafli, Sunil hilariously interacted with Ranbir and even performed a breakup song, leaving both Alia and the audience in splits.
Family’s reaction to Sunil’s comedic cross-dressing
Speaking to News18 Showsha, Sunil shared how his family reacted to his comedic cross-dressing and playful chemistry with Ranbir. He said his family understands the nature of the show and finds his antics funny. “They know the reality. I don’t wear sarees like that (laughs). They’re happy and okay with it, no issues. They had to adjust a little, though (laughs),” he revealed.
Rajiv Thakur’s light-hearted tease
During the interview, Sunil’s co-star Rajiv Thakur playfully teased him about borrowing sarees from his wife. Rajiv asked if Sunil’s wife ever questions him when she can’t find her sarees. Sunil, staying in character, joked that he only borrows her old sarees, adding that his family doesn’t mind his cross-dressing for the show, though his son initially felt a little awkward about it.
