As Stranger Things Day 2024 (November 6) brought new reveals and teases, the hype surrounding Season 5 reached new heights. Here’s everything we know about the last chapter of Stranger Things, from the upcoming episode titles to the spinoffs expanding the universe in the form of live theater, Broadway shows, and an animated series.
The End of the Line: Season 5 Filming and Episode Titles
After a long wait, the production of Stranger Things Season 5 is officially underway. According to TUDUM, the cast is back in Hawkins, Indiana, and they’re savouring every moment. Sadie Sink, who plays Max Mayfield, said in a behind-the-scenes video, “We’re just kind of savoring every single moment.” Season 5 promises to be bigger than its predecessors, as Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna) teased, “Season 4 was big. Season 5 definitely feels bigger.”
Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) shared his excitement about working again with the original four — himself, Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) — after Will returned to Hawkins at the end of Season 4. But as Caleb McLaughlin put it, “Like every season, you never know what to expect.”
Season 5 will have a total of eight episodes, and the episode titles have already been revealed, sparking intense speculation among fans. Here’s a look at the confirmed titles for the final season:

What Will Happen in Season 5?
While specific plot details remain under wraps, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have teased big revelations. The Duffer Brothers previously mentioned that they wrote a detailed 25-page mythology document about the Upside Down back during Season 1, and many of those remaining questions will be answered in Season 5. “We’ve punted a couple of those [questions] to have some big reveals in Season 5,” Ross Duffer said during Geeked Week in June 2022. These revelations will likely have a significant impact on Hawkins and the world beyond.
The core cast members will return to reprise their iconic roles, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington). Alongside them, some fresh faces will join the ensemble. Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux are among the new cast members, and perhaps most notably, Linda Hamilton, famous for her role in The Terminator, is joining Season 5. At 2023’s Tudum Global Fan Event, Hamilton revealed her excitement about joining the Stranger Things family, saying, “I don’t know how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time. I’m gonna work on that.”

Spin-offs
While the final season of Stranger Things will bring an end to the show itself, the Stranger Things universe is far from over. Stranger Things: The First Shadow— a live stage production — is currently running at London’s West End at the Phoenix Theatre. The play, which premiered in December 2023, is a prequel set in 1959, exploring the origins of the events that eventually lead to the supernatural events of Stranger Things. The production will also be making its way to Broadway in 2025, allowing fans in the U.S. to experience the strange world of Hawkins in an entirely new way.
In addition to the stage play, a new Stranger Things animated spinoff series is in the works. The untitled project promises to offer fresh perspectives on the characters and themes that fans have come to love over the years.
