Stephen A. Smith Clashes with Hannity Over Biden Fitness

Stephen A. Smith fired back after Fox News’ Sean Hannity accused him of “missing” an apparent decline in President Joe Biden’s mental fitness.

During Fox News’ Hannity on Thursday, Hannity noted that Smith called President Joe Biden’s farewell address “sad” and then asked how he and others could “miss” Biden’s decline.

“You said it is sad, and I inferred from that what you are saying is you’re sad because he is a sad figure. He is a shadow of his former self. And my question to you is, you are very smart, you are intelligent, you are articulate, you’re combative. I love you. However, why I played montage after montage after montage on this program for years, you have seen them, how did you miss it? How did you possibly miss that?” Hannity asked.

“Hold it! Hold it! Let me answer. First of all, don’t try that with me,” Smith shot back.

The sports pundit said he’d called out what he saw as a mental decline in Biden way before other Democrats expressed concerns.

“I called Joe Biden out a year before the election. I got raked through the coals right along with you, when you got raked through the coals, I was there. Everybody was like, what are you talking about? You don’t know anything,” Smith said. “Excuse me? Well, it was, actually, it was like one to two years later, but the bottom line is, I was right there the year before the election.”

Smith said his vote for Vice President Kamala Harris came down to not wanting the “chaos” of President-elect Donald Trump.

“I just didn’t believe that that man was the right man for the job because I said the presidency is a statesmanship. It’s a statesman position. I believe that somebody else would have been better,” he said. “But in hindsight, looking at what has transpired post-election and seeing the level of, the groveling one minute or the folks on Capitol Hill during these confirmation hearings and you’re acting like you’re campaigning. He won the election and look at how they’re still acting. It’s all disgusting to watch.”
