Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Release Date Announced

The release date for the next live-action Star Wars series has been announced, with Skeleton Crew set to arrive on Disney Plus on December 3, 2024. Alongside the release date, official images from the series were also released, which you can see below. Skeleton Crew was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Christopher Ford (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and it stars Jude Law (Captain Marvel). The official synopsis for the series reads, “‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy.”

Joining Law are Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith, who play the children. One of the four children – played by Smith – is an alien who looks similar to Max Rebo. In an interview with PEOPLE, Watts revealed that the series will introduce a droid named SM 33 voiced by Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) who he describes as “a rusty old, cranky droid that sort of reluctantly helps the kids along the way.”

We know that Law’s character is named Jod Na Nawood and that it’s set after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, but they’re keeping the finer details of the series under wraps. It is looking very likely that Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte will be the only live-action Star Wars shows this year, considering we haven’t yet heard about the release date for the second season of Andor. As the live-action Star Wars shows have all stuck to weekly release schedules you shouldn’t need to binge it, unless the first couple of episodes are combined when Skeleton Crew premieres on December 3, 2024, on Disney Plus.
