Springboks impi’s bring the ‘gees’ [video]

While the New Zealand All Blacks did their best to intimidate their opponents on the pitch with their performance of the Haka, they were no match for the Springbok impi performers.

In recent months, the Zulu warrior dancers have kept the crowds enthralled as part of the pregame entertainment.

SPRINGBOKS IMPIS ENTERTAIN CROWDS AT LOCAL STADIUMS

Over the last two weeks, New Zealand’s All Blacks have given South Africans and the Springboks a first-hand look at their infamous Haka performance.

In return, SA Rugby have rolled out their mighty impi’s – a trio of ripped performers who emulate Zulu warriors. The performers  – dressed in traditional attire – pump up the crowds and flex their muscles to the tune of Johnny Clegg and Juluka’s Impi.

On social media, one of the impi’s – Thobela Torra – has given the public a look at their fierce face-off on the pitch.  And many South Africans agreed that the All Blacks’ Haka was no match for the local warriors.

Meanwhile, the All Blacks’ performance of the Haka at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium on Saturday, 7 September was smooth sailing.
