Sonakshi Sinha recently got married to Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony at her new home. The wedding took place under the Special Marriage Act of 1954, which allows couples of different religions or cultures to marry. Despite not following traditional Hindu or Muslim rituals, the wedding was special. However, keeping in mind Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha’s beliefs, they performed one big Hindu ritual ‘kanyadaan’, where they formally gave Sonakshi’s hand to Zaheer. A photo capturing this moment went viral and touched many hearts.

Netizens got emotional with Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha’s precious moments during kanyadaan. Kanyadaan means “giving away the bride” in Sanskrit, is a symbolic marriage ritual for the Bride’s parents and the couple. One of the users wrote, “What a beautiful moment to cherish.” Another user said, “Shatrughan ji’s dreams have come true. He was waiting for this moment”.
The wedding ceremony itself was intimate, attended only by close family and friends. Later in the evening, they hosted a celebration for their industry friends. Sonakshi shared some romantic couple portraits from the evening, expressing immense joy and gratitude. She expressed how blessed they felt to have each other and the overwhelming love surrounding them. She hinted at the idea of divine intervention, believing that everything aligned perfectly for them on their special day.
She described the day as filled with love, laughter, togetherness, and support from everyone dear to them. The caption read, “Whattttt a day!!!!
