Sonakshi Sinha started her career with Salman Khan‘s ‘Dabanng’ in 2010. The actress has been in this industry for around 14 years now and has managed to make it on her own terms. Sonakshi has always kept her stance clear on what she’s comfortable doing on-screen and what not. In an earlier interview, Sonakshi had said, “I’m on my 15th film with not doing any kissing scene or having to strip down.” During a chat with ETimes post the success of ‘Heeramandi‘, when we asked Sonakshi if it’s sometimes difficult to maintain that or if it means losing out on some opportunities, here’s how she reacted.
Sonakshi laughed and told us, “I’m on my 35th film now and I still stand there! A good actor will always get work. In my entire career, I don’t think I have lost out on anything that has had a kissing scene or intimate scene. I’ve always made it clear to my director, the filmmaker with whom I’m working that, ‘This is something I’m not comfortable doing… it is totally up to you. If you still want to go ahead with me, if you think as an actor, I would bring something to the table, I will do the film but find a way around that, let’s work it out or you are very free to go to someone else who is comfortable doing that. So, the option is always open and nobody is left.”

In this chat, Sonakshi also ETimes, that she is a more confident actor after ‘Heeramandi’. “Yes, absolutely! “It was a very grueling set. Sanjay sir is someone who challenges you and pushes you to be the best version of yourself, and I think that is what he has done to me. I’m much more patient and much more resilient. I worked with such an amazing cast of women; I got to learn so much from them. So, definitely yes.”
