Salads just don’t hit the same during the colder months, and you’ll be looking for something warming, delicious and indulgent to fill your belly as the temperature drops.
You may find yourself reaching for your phone to order your favourite takeaway, which may well be a Nando’s, but in the months coming up to Christmas, you’ll likely want to be saving up to ensure you have enough money to buy all the presents you want to.
So, one way to save money is by planning your meals in advance, and this slow cooker meal will help you easily do that – and it tastes so delicious.
Sharing her recipe on TikTok, @absmeals showed her preparing the slow cooker Nando’s-style chicken pasta, so you can get all the deliciousness in your meal, as well as some tasty carbs.
Slow cookers are a really underrated kitchen tool, as you can bung all the ingredients in and just leave it to do its magic.
The finished product looked delicious, so how do you make Abs’ fakeaway?
First, you’ll need to cut up two large chicken breasts and put them into the slow cooker, followed by two tablespoons of PERi PERi seasoning, two tablespoons of PERi PERi salt.
You’ll also need two tablespoons of paprika, an onion, red and yellow pepper, two tablespoons of of garlic paste, two tablespoons of tomato puree, and a whole bottle of PERi PERi sauce of your choice.
She recommends using medium, but if you fancy it spicier, you can. You then need to leave all the ingredients in the slow cooker “on [a] high [heat] for three hours”.
Once your three hours are up, “add 400g pasta and just under a quarter of the double cream container”.
Then, you need to add a “chicken stock in 300ml of water”, then leave on high for one more hour [and then] add cheese at the end.
Once all these steps have been completed, you’ll have a delicious meal ready to tuck into, that may just rival your favourite restaurant.
In the comments, someone said: “I make some crazy pasta dishes all the time but I’ve never even thought of chucking some Nando’s sauce in! Gonna have to try next time I make some. Thanks for the idea.”
“Currently cooking this in the slow cooker and it smells banging,” another added.
One woman said she made a mistake with it, but would give it another go. She wrote: “Made this, used too much cream, pasta was sticky. I’d do this again without pasta and serve with rice and broccoli. Thank you for the inspiration it was delicious.”
Another suggested: “Another way to make this in a pan. Chicken, Nando’s mild rub sachet, onion, peppers, Philadelphia, chicken stock and pasta. It’s amazing!”
