Singapore’s Max Maeder back in action after Olympics, wins Austrian leg of KiteFoil World Series

SINGAPORE: Olympic medallist Max Maeder has wasted no time getting back to winning ways, clinching victory in his first competition since the Paris Games.

The 17-year-old took the Austrian leg of the IKA KiteFoil World Series on Sunday (Sep 8), winning eleven of twelve races at Lake Traunsee. As a result, Maeder needed just one race win in the medal series to take the title and he did that at the first time of asking.

Maeder’s training partner Martin Dolenc took silver, while France’s Benoit Gomez finished with the bronze.

Olympic gold medallist Valentin Bontus also took part but did not make the final.
