Hyderabad: Tillu Square, starring Mallik Ram and Siddhu Jonnalagadda, along with Anupama Parameswaran, was released in theatres this Friday. The movie serves as a sequel to the highly successful 2022 film DJ Tillu. It is noteworthy that Tillu Square is one of the rare sequels that has been well-received by the audience. Makers of DJ Tillu To Announce Third Installment
The statement from Siddhu at the press meeting suggests that the intention behind making the movie “Tillu Square” was not specifically to outdo or surpass the film “DJ Tillu.” Instead, the focus was on creating a film that could maintain and build upon the love and appreciation received by the character from the audience. Siddhu also acknowledged the challenge of making a successful sequel, noting that sequels often struggle to live up to the original film. The character Tillu is described as a ticking time bomb with the potential to be funny in various situations. Despite this, he expressed confidence in “Tillu Square” as a standalone film, while recognising the uncertainty of its success as a sequel. Siddhu added, “I think Tillu is like a ticking time bomb, he has a lot of scope to be funny depending on the situations he’s in (sic).”
About Tillu Part 3
Producer Naga Vamsi also confirmed that there will be a third installment in the Tillu franchise. He revealed, “We will be making Tillu 3, right now it isn’t announced at the end of Tillu Square. We’ll insert an official announcement from Monday (sic).”Although it has not been officially announced at the end of Tillu Square, an official announcement is expected soon.
DJ Tillu is a film directed by Vimal Krishna, with a sequel directed by Mallik. The movie features Siddhu reprising his role as Tillu and Anupama playing his love interest, Lilly. Similar to the first installment, Tillu faces trouble because of his love interest, but the stakes are even higher this time. In DJ Tillu, Neha Shetty portrays Radhika, a character who murders her boyfriend and manipulates Tillu into helping her bury him. Additionally, Prince Cecil plays the role of Shannon, a nightclub owner and gangster in the film.
Siddhu has not only acted in various movies but has also served as a writer for DJ Tillu and Tillu Square. Recently, he has agreed to star in a spy thriller called Jack, which will be directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Additionally, he is set to star in stylist-turned-director Neeraja Kona’s debut directorial, Telusu Kada.
