SHOCKING footage shows the moment a pensioner was sent flying into the air as he was mowed down while crossing the road.
CCTV released by cops shows a white Audi ploughing into the elderly man in his 70s before speeding off from the scene in West Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire Police said the incident happened in Lawkholme Lane in the town at around 10.05pm on Tuesday, August 27.
Video footage shows the motor turning right into the wrong side of the road as the male pedestrian is already halfway across.
In harrowing scenes, the hit-and-run driver crashes into the man, who is flung across its bonnet and launched into the air.
The driver is then seen casually driving off away from the scene as the pensioner is left in a crumpled heap after the sickening fall.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for a head injury, police said.
Detectives in Keighley, West Yorkshire, who are probing the hit-and-run have now released the video clip in the hope witnesses will come forward.
A spokesman said: “A white Audi turning on to the road from Cavendish Street collided with a pedestrian, with the driver then leaving the scene.
“The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening head injury.
“Police are keen to speak to anyone who was either walking or driving in this area who may have seen the vehicle involved.
“Drivers with dashcam cameras are also asked to check whether they have captured any relevant footage.”
