THIS is the shocking moment a group of “feral kids” attack each other with machetes and hammers before armed cops arrive.
The unnerving brawl took place just meters from a primary school when six masked youths began to punch each other as passersby ran for their lives.
Terrifying video footage taken outside Southern Road primary school in Newham at around 3pm yesterday captures the nightmare as it unfolds.
In the clip the kids throw punches before smacking each other with what appears to be hammers and machetes.
Moments later an unmarked car speeds into the shot and two police officers race out, wielding machine guns to break up the fight.
Four boys in their mid-teens were arrested at the scene and one was taken to hospital with injuries, the police have said.
The unknown assailants quickly scatter and the police attempt to chase after them as bystanders also flee from the area.
Passers-by can also be heard in the background of the video expressing shock at what’s happening.
One person can be heard saying: “Oh they are swinging it. They are swinging it.”
The film was published online by Newham People’s Alliance and people were quick to voice their concerns.
One user wrote: “It was never this bad in Newham but the last 20yrs it’s got like this.'”
Another added: “I live close to there and see these feral kids most days after school. Good thing the police arrived but these events happen too often.
“We are too soft today. The kids should be expelled and sent to an approved school as was when I was that age if they cannot live like civilised human beings.”
A third wrote: “I don’t feel safe in Newham at all.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at about 15:00hrs on Friday, 19 April to reports of a disturbance and people in possession of knives on Southern Road, E13.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended. Four boys aged in their mid-teens were arrested.
“One teenager was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury and has since been discharged.
“Detectives from the North East Command Unit are investigating.”
