A day ahead of Mohan Yadav’s swearing-in, Chouhan said that he would rather die than go and ask something for himself. “I want to express one thing very openly and humbly, ‘Apne liye kuch maangne jaane se behtar, main marna samjhunga, isiliye meine kaha tha main dilli nahi jaunga'(I would rather die than go and ask something for myself, that is why I said I won’t go to Delhi,” he said.
“When a person is self-centred, he thinks about himself. But the BJP is a mission, there is some work for every worker. I will do whatever work is assigned to me,” the 64-year-old leader added.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan had led BJP to a thumping victory in the Madhya Pradesh polls. The BJP won on a resounding mandate, bagging 163 seats, while the Congress finished a distant second at 66 seats.
Just ahead of Mohan Yadav’s swearing-in on Wednesday, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan bid goodbye saying, “Ab vida, jas ki tas rakh deni chadariya (now goodbye and leave it as it is).”
The former CM made the remark while talking to reporters in state capital Bhopal. He also expressed confidence that the CM will take the prosperity, development and public welfare in the state to new heights.Along with Mohan Yadav, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda also took oath as deputy chief ministers.Apart from BJP’s organizational strength and the Modi factor, Chouhan’s Ladli Behna Yojana was seen a big factor for the party’s win. Under the flagship scheme of the Chouhan government, Rs 1,250 was given to the women from financially weaker sections every month. The state achieved all-round development during the BJP rule, Chouhan had said, citing improved condition of roads, power supply and agriculture growth among other things.
