Chennai: Popular Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi recently shared his choice to reject a role starring alongside actress Krithi Shetty in his forthcoming film, Maharaja. During a Behindwoods interview, he disclosed his reasons for doing so, attributing it to his discomfort with the considerable age gap between the pair. Scroll down to find more details.
In a media chat, Vijay spilled the beans about Krithi being the first choice for the leading lady role in Ponram’s forthcoming flick, DSP, set for a 2022 release. But he turned down the chance to star alongside her, referencing his role as her dad in the 2021 Telugu hit Uppena, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, as the underlying rationale.
Sethupathi talking to the media agency he adds, “I declined the offer of being paired opposite Krithi in DSP movie. I played her father in Uppena, which the makers didn’t know about. There’s a scene in Uppena that Krithi was nervous about when we were shooting. I even asked her to think of me as her real father while we were shooting that. She is a little older than my son. I told them I couldn’t do it (sic).”
Vijay Sethupathi just teased his fans on social media with a poster for his new movie, Maharaja. The movie is all set to go live tomorrow at 5 PM, and Sethupathi is encouraging everyone to gear up to enter the world of Maharaja. The film is crafted and brought to life by Nithilan Saminathan.
