JioCinema is all set to premiere their upcoming detective drama series ‘Shekhar Home’ on August 14. The series stars Kay Kay Menon as Shekhar, a highly skilled detective renowned for his exceptional problem-solving abilities, with notable performances from Ranvir Shorey, Rasika Dugal, and Kirti Kulhari in key supporting roles. Inspired from the literary works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which are in the public domain, Shekhar Home transports viewers to a 1990s village in West Bengal. The show was meticulously filmed on location to authentically depict the era, utilizing the region’s enduring architecture and roadways to recreate the nostalgic charm and atmosphere of the 1990s.
Shekhar Home: Kay Kay Menon opens up about shooting the series in real locations in West Bengal; says, “Surprised that the team found places which still hold the 90s charm”
Speaking about shooting in real locations, Kay Kay Menon shared, “I was surprised that the production team could do a recce and find those places in West Bengal which still hold the charm of the nineties. It’s a very tough job. The kind of places that we shot are very unique. I don’t think anyone has seen this kind of stuff including that kind of forests and that kind of architecture. The setting of the series is very unique, and we have multiple locations which audiences will see for the first time.”
Rasika Dugal also added about the charm of the old architecture in the series and added, “Certain pockets in the country retain and preserve the older architecture. Though modernisation is taking a lot of it away, I am very drawn to such places that retain the old charm. Shantiniketan has succeeded in doing that to a large extent. We shot in a very old haveli. Imagine, what if it had been broken and rebuilt into something else? We are losing on parts of our heritage slowly.”
Shekhar Home is a detective series that will premiere on August 14 on JioCinema Premium.
