Actor Kartik Aaryan who has won millions of hearts with his latest role in Chandu Champion, offered a glimpse into his journey with love and career. His biggest heartbreak came in college when his girlfriend couldn’t handle the unpredictable world of acting, forcing them apart. In an appearance on Season 2 of the podcast ‘Be A Man, Yaar’ hosted by Nikhil Taneja, Kartik shared that his then-girlfriend ended their relationship because she couldn’t handle the life of an actor. “I couldn’t muster the courage to express my feelings; I simply smiled at her,” he shared. However, it was his college breakup that left a significant impact. “My girlfriend told me she couldn’t be with me if I pursued acting. She said she couldn’t handle the life of an actor,” Kartik revealed on the Yuvaa podcast.
The actor also discussed the emotional toll of facing rejections during movie auditions. “It was very harsh. It’s like you don’t exist. Lagta tha ki aapki koi value hai nahi,” he said, describing the feeling of being deemed “unfit” and the frustration it caused him. Despite these challenges, Kartik reflected on the support he has received from his fans, which has helped alleviate his loneliness. Kartik spoke candidly about the difficulties outsiders face in the film industry. “Main line mein laga hoon aur dusro ko line mein lagne ki zaroorat bhi nahi padh rahi (while I stand in the queue, others don’t even need to be a part of the line). Wahan chai pi rahe hain jahan main auditions de raha hoon. There was never an even playing field. Aur wo toh aaj bhi rehta hai (things are the same even today),” he remarked, highlighting the ongoing challenges of establishing a career in Bollywood without industry connections.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the misogynistic monologues in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Kartik expressed his willingness to participate in a third installment if the script is good.
