DC’s Shazam! has seen a surge in popularity recently. This may be due to the release of two moderately successful feature films which brought the hero to a new audience. Still, Billy Bastion’s alter ego never quite reached the heights of popularity like Batman and Superman. However, he did net his own series from Mark Waid and Dan Mora. The team brough a new volume of Shazam! to readers last year Now, DC’s April solicitations reveal that the upcoming 10th issue of the series is shaking things up behind the scenes. The team of Josie Campbell and Emanuela Lupacchino is taking over for Waid and Mora.

April’s solicitations from DC reveal that Shazam #10 is bringing a new story arc to the series. This new arc will be crafted from the new team of Campbell and Lupacchino. Luckily, Campbell is no stranger to the world of Shazam!. The writer worked on the spinoff miniseries The New Champion of Shazam! feat. Mary Marvel. Plus, Emanuela Lupacchino is making quite the name for themselves in the world of DC. They have worked on titles like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Starfire, and World’s Finest: Teen Titans.
A Brand New Story
The solicitation for Shazam! #10 reveals that it is moving day for Billy Bastion and the gang. In the aftermath of a battle with Black Adam, the family home has been completely destroyed. So, Billy has hired. The gods that give him his powers to help rebuild it. However, what surprises await the crew as they enter this new godly-built home. Surely this will just be a simple home built by the gods with no secrets or hijinks waiting to spring up.
This new run of Shazam! kicks off in issue #10 on 04/02.
