Congress’ Shashi Tharoor on April 24 talked about Sam Pitroda’s remarks on inheritance tax. Tharoor clarified party’s stance and said that what Sam said is not in the party’s manifesto. He said, “It is not in the manifesto. What Sam Pitroda has said is not in the manifesto. Please understand. We are a democratic party. Everyone has the right to personal opinions. But once the document is approved by the working committee, that’s all the party is standing by. So, the party is saying, this is our document, read it. Nowhere does it talk about wealth redistribution.”
