Shahid Kapoor is all over the news of his latest release, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The 43-year-old actor debuted in Bollywood in 2003 with Ishq Vishk. But the journey wasn’t easy as he was an outsider and poorly treated by the camps. Scroll below for details as he exposes the dark side of the industry.
As most know, Shahid hails from Delhi. He had a desi accent that certainly didn’t work in his favor. Furthermore, industry insiders mistreated him since he had no backing or was not part of any camps.
Shahid Kapoor recalls being ill-treated during early days in Bollywood
Exposing the dark side of Bollywood in a conversation on Neha Dhupia‘s No Filter Neha, Shahid Kapoor revealed, “When I came into the industry, I realised this is also like a school. Bahar waale ko aasani se accept nahi karte ye log, inko bada problem hota hai ke tum aa kaise gaye ander. (They don’t accept anyone from outside easily. They have a problem that how you enter into the industry). So for many years you deal with that.”

Shahid Kapoor also recalled how he did not have confidence as a kid. He claimed people often “diss” each other or “pull each other down.” However, he feels people who want to collaborate creatively and are comfortable with each other should collaborate. Instead of closing doors for others.
“I hate being bullied, and I didn’t have the confidence as a kid, as a teenager, and as a young adult. But now, if you try to bully me, I will bully you right back. So, I hate the bully, I bully the bully. This is no filter, Shahid,” concluded Shahid Kapoor.
We completely agree with you, Shahid!
