Shabana Azmi enjoys a close relationship with her husband Javed Akhtar’s children, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, from his first marriage to Honey Irani. Shabana shared on ‘The Invincibles Series Season 2’ with Arbaaz Khan that Honey initially experienced feelings of isolation and conflict when she learned of Shabana’s relationship with Javed. In the conversation Shabana said, “I feel very happy, because I have a very beautiful relationship with Zoya and Farhan, and I really give the credit to Honey. They were really young kids at the time, and it would’ve been the easiest thing in the world for Honey to take them away. She never did that; she encouraged them to be with us (sic).”
She further added, “I really doff my hat to Honey, because that generosity came from her. And today, even with Honey, we have a really, really good relationship. I know that Honey has the confidence to call Javed in the middle of the night if she needs something, and he would come… We decided that there should be no bitterness involved. Of course, in the beginning, she was very bitter, and she felt rejected. But he kept at it, he kept at it, he kept at it. And today, what’s come from it is really something that I’m extremely proud of (sic).”
Javed Akhtar, a renowned personality, was once wedded to Honey Irani. She was not only known for her work as a child artist but also for her unique writing skills. From their union, they were blessed with two children, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar. However, their marital journey came to an end in the initial years of the 1980s. Destiny then brought Javed and Shabana Azmi together. The spark between them kindled a romantic journey, which led to them tying the knot in the year 1984.
Shabana is all set to grace the screen in a gripping crime thriller, “Dabba Cartel.” This project is under the banner of Excel Entertainment, which is Farhan’s own production house. Notably, this isn’t her first stint with Excel; she previously worked with them in the movie “Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd” back in 2007. Lately, she’s been making waves with her performances in “Ghoomer” and “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.”
