Senegal: President Macky Sall says he will step down on 2 April

“April 2, 2024 will be the end of my term at the head of the country, the end of my binding relationship with the Senegalese people as President of the Republic,” Sall said during a televised interview with the local media on the evening of 22 February.

“I would like this [mandate] debate to be clearly settled,” he said.
