AN ENORMOUS cruise liner made history today as it docked in a Scots port.
The Port of Aberdeen welcomed the largest-ever ship in its 900 years of operating this morning.
The floating hotel – nicknamed the Costa Favolosa – arrived in Scotland’s ‘granite city’ at 6.40am from Kirkwall.
Met by a small number of people, the colossal 950ft long boat was manoeuvred into Aberdeen South Harbour by two tug boats along the Dunnottar Quay.
With a capacity of approximately 3,780 passengers, the vessel bore tonnes of tourists who will pay a brief visit to the Scots city.
The Costa Favolosa has been sailing around the North Atlantic and North Sea since its launch in 2010.

Costing an estimated £430 million, the ship broke records today as the biggest boat to grace the Aberdeen harbour.
Having started her voyage in Hamburg, the liner is in the midst of a 22 day round-trip across Northern Europe.
According to the Press and Journal, the Port of Aberdeen said the Favolosa’s docking would not have been possible without last year’s South Harbour expansion.
Meanwhile, the majestic Queen Anne cruiser arrived in Greenock Harbour this morning.
It’s second visit to Glasgow, the 113,000 tonne ship departed on its maiden voyage from Southampton in May and arrived on the banks of the Clyde on June 1.
