CHRISTMAS shoppers had their manic days brought to a standstill after queue chaos struck Scots shops.
Lines of punters making last-minute festive purchases snaked around the outside of CostCo in Glasgow.
The gathering of customers was lining up outside the door of the popular wholesaler with just five days to go until Christmas.
Many shoppers took shelter under umbrellas and hoods as they braved the wintery rain battering the country.
It was the same elsewhere in the city as thousands of people flocked to the city centre.
Buchanan Street was filled with bag-carrying shoppers racing around shops picking up last-minute prezzies for pals and loved ones.
But the hustle and bustle wasn’t for everyone as some tried to make an escape from the hordes of Crimbo consumers.
Scores of motors filled motorways heading out of the city as the great Christmas getaway bagn.
Among the motorists were those driving home for Christmas to spend the festive season with loved ones and workers who had logged off and set to enjoy some yuletide time off.
Gift-seekers also had to wrap up warm and wind and rain battered the west coast.
Shoppers who still have gifts to buy will have to hold on tight to their shopping bags if they venture out tomorrow.
It looks set to be a soggy start to Christmas, with 85mph winds, hail, sleet and snow all on the way.
Two yellow wind warnings have been issued for Scotland by the Met Office.
The whole country is under the weather alerts from 7am tomorrow.
Forecasters are not lifting the warning until 11:59 on Sunday.
The monstrous gusts are set to bring travel chaos to parts of Scotland.
Rail and ferry services are expected to be hit by disruption.
