FOUR Scotland fans were left scrambling for new accommodation and out of pocket after they found their hotel in Cologne had shut down.
Alan Maxwell, 64, Stuart Matheson, Jason Bond, 52, Stuart Matheson, 52, and Mark Gardener, 52, had paid £1,100 through Booking.com to stay at Hotel Friends.
The pals travelled from Munich to Cologne by train on Sunday night, before taking a taxi to their digs but the premises had a closed-down sign on the front door.
They have now had to pay around £1,450 for a new hotel and they are unsure if they will get a refund over the blunder.
Dad-of-one Alan, from Leven, Fife, told The Scottish Sun: “It shut down about a month ago and no one told us.
“I don’t know if I’ll get the money back. I’ll need to wait until I go home and see if I can claim it back.”

A spokesperson for Booking.com said: “We were sorry to hear about the experience of this customer and can confirm that they will be refunded in full for the original reservation, as well as any cost difference with the new accommodation.
“Accommodation providers that list their stays with us are responsible for ensuring all information is up to date, and while we investigate further, reservations are suspended at this property.”
They weren’t the only members of the Tartan Army to have an issue with their accommodation.
One supporter blasted Booking.com after he was sent to an abandoned DUNGEON.
Rory Bradley, 28, and his three pals turned up at a property resembling “something out of a murder film“.
Fan Rory, from Glasgow, said their trip turned into a total “nightmare” after they were given alternative accommodation from Booking.com after the initial place they had reserved turned out to be “an absolute mess”.
But their replacement digs weren’t much of an improvement.
They discovered they had been sent to an “abandoned medical facility” with hospital beds, industrial equipment and even a huge axe.
“We made our way into the property and we were greeted by industrial equipment, exposed chemicals, exposed cables and exposed pipes.
“To top it all off, there was an axe that looked like something out of a murder film.
“We made our way through the rest of the gaff and continued to find hazard after hazard including access to a generator room.”
