A SCHOOLGIRL has been rushed to hospital after she was struck by a car.

The girl, nine, was knocked down on Burghmuir Drive in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raced at around 3.50pm.

The youngster was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The condition of the child is currently unknown.

Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.50pm on Saturday, May 25, officers were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Burghmuir Drive, Inverurie.

“The pedestrian, a nine-year-old girl, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.”
