A SEVEN-year-old schoolgirl has been rushed to hospital after being mauled by a dog in Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to Maukinfauld Road in Parkhead at around 3pm on Wednesday after the child was attacked.
Ten police vehicles were spotted at the scene.
A police cordon sealed off the nearby Rattray Street.
Witnesses reported seeing the young girl – who was left bleeding – running into a nearby building.
It is understood that the dog tried to attack even after the child sought safety in the building.

Her condition is not yet known.
Last night, a Police Scotland spokesperson told STV: “Around 3pm on Wednesday, October 30 we received a report of a dog having attacked a seven-year-old girl on Maukinfauld Road, Glasgow.
“She has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“Officers are in attendance and there is no risk to the wider public.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
