Sanjeeda Shaikh is enjoying all the praise that is coming her way for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated series ‘Heeramandi’.
Apart from her role in this series, Sanjeeda also left a mark with her powerful performance in Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’, despite having limited screen time. She recently opened up about being an actress and a single mother, demonstrating her openness to embracing her strengths in both aspects of her life.
Discussing her brief appearances onscreen in ‘Fighter’, Sanjeeda told India Today that the length of her roles doesn’t bother her and that she is a very secure actor. She further stated that making an impact with a limited role is important and she felt blessed to do the same in with Fighter. She added, “Even with Heeramandi, I wasn’t sure in the start what the duration of my role is going to be, but, as I started shooting, Sanjay sir was an excellent mentor and the final product is for everyone to watch.”
She also addressed her separation from Aamir Ali. They share a four-year-old daughter, whom Sanjeeda regards as her greatest blessing. Discussing how she managed during this challenging period, Sanjeeda said, “God has plans for everyone, and he has planned something for me too. As per his plan, everything is going great. I’m enjoying this journey and I have accepted myself even if I might be beautifully flawed. Nobody is perfect.” Sanjeeda called her daughter her ‘biggest strength’ and stated that being a single mother or not doesn’t matter as a mother is a mother. She further added, “The responsibility, their duties or the love and affection I would have for my child is going to be the same whether single or not.”
Apart from Sanjeeda, ‘Heeramandi’ also starred Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha and Sharmin Segal Mehta among others.
