Vicky who played Manekshaw in his biopic ‘Sam Bahadur,’ mentioned that though movies are made for commercial purposes, he had different expectations from this cinematic experience. He wanted Sam’s life and journey to be celebrated in every house, and village, through ‘Sam Bahadur.’
“We want to reach every household, village, town, city, and every corner of the world. Money and fame. It’s great, we all crave that. But what we work for is people watching it, resonating with it, and celebrating it, celebrating the man (Sam Manekshaw). That will be the utmost validation,” expressed Vicky to PTI in an interview.
“The film should reach every household, it should become an emotion. Sometimes it’s a dialogue, song, scene, a moment, or the whole film, but you want that to happen. These moments create a legacy and that’s what you are working for, you are working for a legacy,” Kaushal added.
Released on December 1, ‘Sam Bahadur’ chronicled the journey of the braveheart army man who fought not just for his nation but to prove his loyalty to his nation on many occasions. Alongside Vicky, this Meghna Gulzar directorial movie also starred Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles.
