Salman Khan’s family releases first statement after the gun-firing incident that took place on Sunday morning outside Galaxy apartment in Mumnai.
Mumbai: Arbaaz Khan on Monday released the first statement after the shots were fired at Galaxy Apartment, where his brother Salman Khan lives with the family. The incident happened on Sunday morning when two people from the Bishnoi gang on a motorcycle fired four gunshots at the building. Amid the police investigation, Arbaaz, on behalf of the Khan family, released an official statement, mentioning that the entire family has been affected by the incident and they are helping the Mumbai police in the probe.
The statement also mentioned that one should not believe what others are saying in the matter. It also discouraged any statement given by anyone in the media stating that the incident was a ‘publicity stunt’. Calling the whole incident shocking and ‘unnerving’, a part of the statement read, “The recent incident of firing by two unidentified people on a motorcycle at Galaxy apartment, the residence of the Salim Khan family, is very disturbing and unnerving. Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place (sic).”
Arbaaz’s statement on Instagram also mentioned people claiming to be close to the Khan family. It talked about how the entire family stands together in these crucial times and is taking the entire investigation very seriously. “Unfortunately, some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying it’s all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected which is not true and these views should not be taken seriously. No member of the Salim Khan family has made any statement regarding this incident in the media. At this time, the family is helping and cooperating with the police in the investigation of this untoward incident. We have faith in the Mumbai police and we have been assured they will do everything in their capacity to protect and secure our family. Thank you everyone for your love and support (sic),” read the full statement.
Arbaaz posted the full statement on Instagram without writing anything in the caption. This is the first time anyone has spoken out on the matter from the family. However, a news report in CNN News18 earlier claimed that Salim Khan spoke to them and talked about the incident. The ‘exclusive’ report mentioned Salim saying, “There is nothing to tell. They just want publicity, there is no need to worry (sic).” The joint statement from the family shared by Arbaaz now seems to be refusing the same statement claimed to be made by Salman’s father, Salim Khan.
Meanwhile, Salman is expected to resume work according to his previous schedule. The actor is scheduled to begin the AR Murugadoss film titled ‘Sikandar’ which is slated to be the big Eid release next year. He is also involved in the post-production work of ‘The Bull’ which is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
