As reported by Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed that producer Sajid Nadiadwala assured his long-time friend Sunil Shetty that he would offer Ahan a second opportunity in the film industry after the poor response his debut film Tadap received. Sajid felt a sense of responsibility towards helping his friend’s son succeed, so he decided to cast his Housefull 4 co-star Pooja Hegde, whom he had earlier promised another film, alongside Ahan in Sanki. The source mentioned that Sajid was confident that Sanki would revive Ahaan’s career.
The source also told the portal that Sajid is now rethinking the film’s future. The current market dynamics, particularly concerning satellite and digital rights, have not met his expectations. Despite securing digital rights through a bulk deal with Amazon Prime Video, the financial returns have been below anticipated levels, both for satellite and digital distribution. However, the exorbitant costs associated with Ahan Shetty’s entourage, including expenses for hair, make-up, spot, stylist, driver, chef, trainer, and others, all billed to the production, worsen the situation. Sajid lost his patience, and the demands left him frustrated, and he believed there was no point in doing this movie. Reportedly, Suniel Shetty requested that Sajid not pause the movie, and he is ready to help the producer with the costs.
So far, neither the production house, the producer, nor the actor have reacted to these reports. Meanwhile, Ahan Shetty made his Bollywood debut in 2021 with the film Tadap. It was a romantic thriller, a remake of the Telugu movie RX 100, and it also stars Tara Sutaria. The film didn’t receive a good response and also struggled at the box office.
