Sacha’s dad celebrates first test match start

Sacha Feinberg Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, has described his transition from schoolboy prodigy to a Springbok phenomenon – now making his test match start – as a “meteoric rise”.

The 22-year-old will start off in Bok’s first Rugby Championship match against Australia on Saturday, 10 August.

The Stormers star has beaten the likes of famous flyhalfs Handre Pollard and Manie Libbok.

This weekend’s match will take place at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU’S DAD CELEBRATES FIRST TEST START

In a tweet, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s dad, Nick Feinberg, celebrated the announcement of his son’s first test start.

In a media briefing, Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus praised the young flyhalf, who has become a social media sensation.

He said: “Sacha has made a notable impact off the bench in all four Tests he has played so far. He’s slotted into the system with ease, so we are excited to see what dynamic he adds to the team as a starter.

“His goal-kicking has also been impressive, and we know that against teams like Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina, the margins are tiny so that every point will count.”

‘EVERYONE’S ALL LOVER HIM’

Speaking to Daily Voice earlier this week, Nick Feinberg claimed that his son Sacha displayed a natural talent in both rugby and soccer at an early age.

He said: “I maintain Sach was as good if not a better footballer than rugby player. But he was around 12 years old when one of his sports coaches said to me: ‘I bet my liver he’ll be in a WP shirt in the next few years.’

“From around that age, he was impressing crowds at school with his skill set, and even as a football guy, I could see something special…”

In an interview with Jacaranda FM, Nick revealed that Sacha is now more famous than he is.

He said: “I’ve been on the radio probably over 25 years, and I had a small public profile from that. But now I’m completely redundant, and I’m just known as Sacha’s dad.

“There’s no more Nick. In fact, in the office, I’m called SD for short. In the old days, when I used to be out with the kids and maybe in a restaurant or something, and occasionally someone would come up and want a photo or something with me. Now it’s absolutely reversed.

“I go out with Sacha; you can hardly sit and have a meal. Everyone’s all over him. It’s been a wild one.”
