Springbok and Stormers star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has posted a heartwarming picture of his mother, Maxhosazana Mngomezulu, on his social media account.
The 22-year-old is the son of the acclaimed advocate and radio presenter Nick Feinberg. He is also the brother of Netflix reality TV star Nathan Mngomezulu and grandson of the anti-Apartheid struggle icon Barry Feinberg.
SACHA FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU SPENDS SPECIAL TIME WITH MOM
In an Instagram Story, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu showed love to his beautiful mother, Makhosazana.
In the pic, the young star embraces his beaming mom on what appears to be his day off.
“Mumsy prettier than me,” he captioned the snap, alongside a “queen” emoji.
Makhozana – who is an advocate in the Cape Bar – is no doubt a proud mom after her son made his Springbok debut last year, and was shortlisted for World Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of the Year award.
Sacha, who is of mixed race and has Zulu and Jewish heritage, adopted both his parents’ surnames.
Nick Feinberg – the son of the late Apartheid hero Barry Feinberg – was born in the UK whilst his family was in exile.
In the 1990s, he returned to South Africa, where he met Makhosazana, and the couple conceived Sacha in the years that followed.
Nick and Makhosazana split, and the former is not married to wellness guru Candace Feinberg.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
In an interview with the Behind The Ruck podcast last year, the famous flyhalf revealed his full name: Sacha Mbokodo Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
“Sacha is a Russian name, as my family has Russian descent, and it means ‘the defender of mankind.’ Mbokodo means a ‘strong rock,’ and then Mngomezulu means the ‘song of the heavens.’ There is a bit of everything in my name”.
Sacha’s brother Nathan – who appeared in season three of Netflix’s Too Hot Too – has also boasted of his Zulu heritage, hailing himself as a “warrior” in the reality TV show.
‘MY FAMILY IS NOT PERFECT’
During the podcast, Sacha also revealed that his family was undoubtedly proud of his sporting achievements.
He said: “My family is not perfect, nor is anyone’s. But rugby did a good job of bringing us all together, and everybody celebrating a common W (win), which doesn’t happen often”.
He added: “I hope I can keep making them proud.”
