Sabrina Carpenter In a 1950s-Inspired Hair Scarf Just Feels Correct

She’s working late, ‘cause she’s a … runway model! Sabrina Carpenter was a surprise guest at the Paris installment of Vogue World on June 23, and she walked the runway looking like she stepped right out of the ’50s with a cherry red and white striped scarf tied over her now-signature blonde bombshell curls. But the real question is, how did she get her bangs to sit so perfectly under that scarf? I need to know everything.

The “Espresso” singer wore the scarf tied cheekily over her long, thick blonde hair, knotted under her chin. Her viral curtain bangs—often imitated, never duplicated—were precisely arranged under the piece of fabric, with each swoop curved and shaped to perfection. (Carpenter’s hair was styled by Evanie Frausto, who frequently works with the star.) I don’t know about you, but as someone who has been experimenting with the retro silk scarf trend this season, it’s not always easy to get your hair to sit just so with a silky scarf in the mix, so I have to wonder how many sneaky pins are hiding under Carpenter’s hair accessory, or how much hairspray was used to seal it all in place. She does, however, wear a scarf in the retro-inspired “Please Please Please” music video, so Carpenter and her glam team probably have the mechanics down pat by now.
