The RPSC in a public notice made available today, January 23, 2024 – on its official website at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in said that the RAS Main recruitment exam has been postponed to July 20 and 21, 2024.
The notice states, “Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2023 to be organized by the Commission on 27.01.2024 (Saturday) and 28.01.2024 (Sunday) in continuation of the decision taken in the meeting of the Honorable Full Commission dated 23.01.2024. is postponed. The said examination will now be held on 20.07.2024 (Saturday) and 21.07.2024 (Sunday).”
Vacancy details
The RPSC RAS recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 424 positions in the Rajasthan State Service Exam and 481 in the Rajasthan Subordinate Service; 905 posts combined.
Key dates
The application period for the examination commenced on July 1, 2023, and concluded on July 31, 2023. Applicants were required to pay the examination fee by the same deadline. The preliminary examination was scheduled for October 1, 2023.
The results for the preliminary exam was made available on October 20, 2023, followed by the release of individual marks on October 24, 2023. Presently, the mains examination is scheduled to take place on July 20-21, 2024.
RPSC RAS 2023 Main examination details-
In the main examination, the number of candidates selected will be fifteen times the approximate number of vacancies. However, candidates with the same marks as the lower range may also be admitted. If the Commission finds a shortage of candidates in the reserved category based on general standards, relaxed standards may be applied, expanding the zone of consideration. Candidates qualifying for the main examination in this manner are eligible for posts reserved for their respective categories.
For the main examination, candidates must secure a minimum of 10% marks in each paper and 15% marks in aggregate to qualify for the personality and viva voce examination. Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates receive a 5% relaxation. Ex-servicemen and specially abled persons also benefit from relaxation/concession in minimum passing marks according to specified rules.
The written examination consists of four descriptive/analytical papers, including General Studies I, General Studies II, General Studies III, and General Hindi and General English. Each paper is three hours long, with a maximum of 200 marks. The standards for General Hindi and General English are at the Sr. Secondary level.
