Revo has signed a deal to become an official partner of U.S. Sailing, the national governing body of sailing, and will outfit both U.S. Sailing and the U.S. Sailing Team with eyewear as the team competes internationally.
Revo is the 16th company to sign on as partners with the organization in the past 18 months.
“I have been boating and sailing all my life so to have the opportunity to support the U.S. Sailing team is a great honor for me personally,” said Cliff Robinson, chief executive officer of Revo. “We want to make sure athletes have the best gear available to them and we are proud that the U.S. Sailing team will have the best performance and protection now that they will be outfitted in Revo.”
Eric Krasnoo, senior vice president of partnerships and membership at U.S. Sailing, said, “Revo products provide high-level functionality and style that our members crave and will be a great addition to the team’s gear.”
The partnership is in effect through 2024.
The United States Sailing Association (U.S. Sailing), is certified by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of sailing in the United States. Founded in 1897, U.S. Sailing now serves more than 40,000 members as well as more than 1,500 yacht clubs and sailing centers; offers training and certifications for sailors, instructors and race officials; oversees national championships; manages offshore ratings; conducts regional and national events, and spearheads initiatives to increase accessibility. It also leads the training and development of the U.S. Sailing team for the Olympic Games and international competitions.
Revo was founded in 1985 when NASA astrophysicist and optical engineer Dr. Mitch Ruda had the idea to use the same coatings that protect satellites to protect eyes from the sun. Revo is now owned by B. Robinson, a longtime designer and manufacturer of branded and private label eyewear founded in 1926 by Cliff Robinson’s grandfather, Ben Robinson. The company purchased Revo in 2018 with a team of private investors.
