In unfortunate news, fashion designer Rohit Bal has passed away. Rohit was 63 and was a renowned name in the fashion industry. As per the reports, the fashion designer died due to prolonged illness. The news of his death has left the entire fashion industry in a great shock. Since last year, Bal was dealing with a heart disease and was even admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital last year in November.
For several months, Rohit Bal was in an intensive care unit. However, today, he wasn’t feeling well and was rushed to the hospital due to complications. The FDCI took to its Instagram page to mourn Rohit’s passing away and appreciated his immense contribution to the fashion industry.
The post reads, “We mourn the passing of legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion and inspired generations. His legacy of artistry and innovation, along with forward thinking, will live on in the fashion world. Rest in peace, GUDDA. You are a legend.”
Last year, after battling the disease, Rohit Bal made a comeback this year for Lakme India Fashion Week. As per the reports, Rohit stumbled during the walk on the ramp. That’s when many raised concerns about his health. Bal’s work was loved by many celebrities. He had a knack for men’s and women’s fashion and started his journey in the year 1986 with his brother. However, in 1990, Rohit started his independent collection and his designs were among the best.
