Legendary actor Rekha recently shared a surprising revelation about her fondness for the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. During her appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Rekha told host Kapil Sharma that she is a regular viewer of the iconic show and remembers every line from it. The candid moment came during a light-hearted conversation when Kapil mimicked Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic style of questioning guests on the show.

While discussing his time as a guest on KBC, Kapil Sharma recalled a memorable moment with Amitabh Bachchan, who had asked his mother a funny question: “Devi ji, kya kha ke paida kiya?” (What did you eat before giving birth to him?). Before Kapil could continue with the story, Rekha interjected with her own response, revealing the answer that Kapil’s mother had given: “Daal-roti.”
This moment sparked laughter in the audience, but Rekha went on to add, “Mujhse poochhiye na, ek ek dialogue yaad hai” (Ask me, I remember each and every line of dialogue). Her playful remark left everyone in splits.
Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan, two of Bollywood’s most iconic stars, have a rich history of collaboration. The pair starred in nine films together in the 1970s and 1980s, and their chemistry on-screen became legendary. While rumors of a romantic relationship between the two circulated, both actors have always maintained a professional distance, especially after Rekha and Amitabh’s affair reportedly ended in the early 1980s.
Despite this, the two continue to share mutual respect for each other’s work. They were even part of Yash Chopra’s Silsila, which was dubbed as the ‘casting coup of the century’ for bringing together Amitabh, Rekha, and Jaya Bachchan on screen.
