Realme 12 series details tipped
- Realme GT 5 Pro is rumoured to be the brand’s first phone to feature a periscope telephoto camera. The phone comes with a Sony IMX890 periscope zoom unit with 3x optical zoom.
- Other flagships like the OnePlus 12 and the iQOO 12 series feature OmniVision OV64B 64MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 3x optical zoom.
- As per Digital Chat Station, the Realme 12 (probably the high-end Pro version) will also use the OV64B periscope zoom unit.
- The tipster claims that the Realme 12 series will be a mid-range offering with the camera as the focus. These may also debut around early next year.
The Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro are expected to have RMX3842 and RMX3840 model numbers, respectively. These could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. The vanilla Pro model could have a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, while the Pro+ may come with a 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Realme GT Neo 6 chipset and launch timeline
Separately, Digital Chat Station has also claimed that Realme is working on the Realme GT Neo 6 as a successor to the GT Neo 5. This will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The tipster says the phone will debut after the Chinese New Year, which probably means by late February. However, no other details about the flagship or the Realme 12 series are revealed at the moment.
Earlier rumours tipped the Realme GT Neo 6 would come with an aluminium frame. The handset is expected to be priced under RMB 2,000 (approx Rs 22,900).
