JOSH DOIG is a name that’s been linked with Rangers in the early days of this January transfer window.
But it looks like there’s some competition for the Scotland under-21 starlet.
Doig, 21, left Hibs to join Verona for around £3million back in July 2022.
He penned a four-year deal with the Serie A outfit and has been a regular in their team since.
Rangers are understood to be in the market for a new left-back this month.
Long-time first choice Borna Barisic is out of contract this summer while Ridvan Yilmaz has struggled to nail down a place, although has impressed in recent games.

Kai Wagner and Fredrik Oppegard were names to emerge as potential targets, while Doig’s name cropped up earlier this week.
Reports in Italy claimed the Gers, Leeds and other Italian clubs were interested in a move for Doig.
A fee of more than £5million has been mooted.
Further reports in Italian media claimed that Verona are interested in Gers man Yilmaz, provoking talk among fans that a potential swap deal of sorts could be in the pipeline, although the reports made no suggestion that could be the case.
Torino were one of the Italian clubs listed as being interested in Doig and Tuttosport now claim that the Turin outfit are in negotiations with Verona over the former Hibees man.
The report once again states that Verona want 6m Euros for Doig, around £5.2million.
However, they also claim that they could be convinced to compromise.
Tuttosport say that due to ‘economic difficulties’ at Verona they could be tempted to sell Doig for a lower sum to ‘close the deal’ with talks ongoing.
Torino are also understood to be interested in Dutch left-back Owen Wijndal who has emerged as an alternative option to Doig.
