Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s, Animal, has been the talk of the town ever since its release, and now, actor Bobby Deol has spilled the beans on a noteworthy yet edited-out scene featuring a kiss between his character, Abrar Haque, and Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Ranvijay Singh Balbir.

While the film has garnered attention for various reasons, Bobby Deol’s revelation added a new layer of intrigue. In an interview with The Quint, Bobby shared that a kiss between the estranged cousins, Abrar and Ranvijay, was originally part of the climax fight scene but was later removed by the director. Offering insight into the scene, Bobby Deol shared director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s vision, “There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love.” However, the anticipated kiss was omitted during the final edit.
Bobby Deol hinted at the possibility of the kiss scene making its way into the uncut version on Netflix, stating, “He said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him, and then you don’t give up, and he kills you’. But he removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version.”
He also shared how Sandeep conceptualized another powerful moment in the scene, emphasizing the director’s ability to bring an alpha element to each character. Bobby added, “Both their families love each other. We are family. There is love for each other’s brothers. But that moment was also Sandeep’s idea. We were doing the fight sequence, practicing for it, and then he said, ‘You know what Bobby, I want you to punch him and lie on top of him’. It was more about me being powerful. Obviously, the hero always wins in the end. And the shot of me unzipping, it was his idea. He brings that alpha thing to every character.”
The revelation provides a glimpse into the creative decisions and nuances that shape the final cut of a film, leaving fans curious about what the uncut version on OTT platforms may unveil.
Produced by T-Series, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Siddhant Karnick, Saloni Batra, among others and it released on December 1 in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu. Following the unveiling of post-credit scene, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also hints at making a sequel called Animal Park, which is also expected to feature Ranbir Kapoor.
