Congress leader Rahul Gandhi returned to the national capital on Thursday evening after the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by him took a ‘pre-scheduled’ two-day break beginning January 26.
The yatra is expected to resume its journey on January 28 from West Bengal’s Cooch Behar, where it had reached on Thursday. The yatra had faced protests here as some people, without any party flag, turned up with anti-Congress placards.
State Congress chief Adhir Chowdhury said his party was facing problems in getting permission for organising public meetings in West Bengal as part of the yatra. Reacting to this, BJP’s Amit Malviya posted on X: “Mamata Banerjee’s decision to deny Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra permission is like the last nail in the coffin of I.N.D.I. Alliance.”
