A Mpumalanga man who recently won the R102 million Powerball jackpot has revealed that this is his second time winning the lotto.
The lucky winner also claimed that he had prayed to win “just R15 million” to pursue his business interests and secure a comfortable life.
According to Ithuba, which governs the National Lottery, winners’ names have a right to maintain their anonymity as per the Data Protection Act.
POWERBALL WINNER WON THE LOTTO BEFORE!
According to Ithuba, the Mpumalanga man revealed that he had once won R70 000 in lotto winnings.
Luck was on his side again when he placed a bet on the R102 million Powerball, which had rolled over six consecutive times. The man had bought his ticket via his FNB app.
He said: “I had been praying for R15m, an amount I believed would help me build a sustainable business for my family. Winning R102 million is far beyond my expectations. It feels like a prayer answered many times over”.
The man also pledged to donate a large portion of his Powerball winnings to an orphanage.
WHO NEEDS A JOB ANYWAY?
Earlier in the week, an X user revealed that the R102 million Powerball winner had quit his job after discovering his good fortune.
The tweep posted: “He immediately packed his things, and that was it.”
Another X user claimed to be a work colleague of the Powerball winner.
He tweeted: “We were all in disbelief. Such a humble guy. He deserved it.” He added: “We were unable to work after🤣”
It’s unclear if the man disclosed his winnings to his company.
