Drew & Cole have shared their pressure cooker recipe for roast potatoes.
The experts said: “Best served crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
“These tasty roast potatoes can be cooked in half of the traditional time.”
The experts recommended using the the Pressure King Pro 5.7L 12-in-1 pressure cooker by Drew & Cole, which costs £70 from Argos, for this recipe.
However, there are other pressure cookers out there like the Metallic Black GPC201SS-20 5.5L 1000W Pressure Cooker which costs £50 from Asda.
These roast potatoes are perfect for stews, casseroles and Sunday roasts but equally taste delicious with other dishes.
The below method will depend on the type of pressure cooker you have. This particular method is for the Pressure King Pro 5.7L 12-in-1 pressure cooker by Drew & Cole.
Ingredients:
- 800g potatoes
- 350ml water
- Two tbsp olive or cooking oil
- Two tbsp butter
- One tbsp cornflour
- One tsp garlic granules (optional)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Method:
1. First, add the water to the pressure cooker, put the steamer tray in and place the whole unpeeled potatoes on top.
2. Next, put the lid on and close the pressure valve before selecting the steam function. Adjust the time to eight minutes or the equivalent for your pressure cooker.
3. Then, mix together the cornflour, garlic granules and seasoning in a bowl and put to one side.
4. Once the program has finished press cancel. Open the pressure valve and remove the lid.
5. Remove the potatoes and the steamer tray and discard the water. Dry the inner pot and slice the potatoes into even chunks before coating the potato chunks in the cornflour mixture.
6. Select the browning function or equivalent on your pressure cooker and add the oil and butter. Allow it to heat up before adding the potatoes. Make sure all the sides are fried until the potatoes are golden brown, then press cancel.
